Raising awareness of workplace cancer deaths

Worldwide, occupational cancer claims the lives of more than 666,000 people a year. That is one death every 47 seconds. In the UK around 14,000 people are diagnosed with cancer from exposures to carcinogens at work, with around two-thirds of them eventually dying from their disease.

IOM supported the work undertaken by the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH), to raise awareness and provide a greater focus on workplace cancer. With the IOSH campaign “No Time To Lose” still ongoing to this date.
