Metals

Metals are associated with a wide range of adverse health effects. Exposure to certain metals can cause serious health problems, which include some cancers, kidney damage and very high exposure can be fatal.

Metals are present in the work, home and outdoor environment. It is important that metal analyses are carried out to detect any potential health risks.

As part of our lab services, we offer an analysis of metals in samples to identify and measure elements present.

What is Metal Analysis?

We provide analysis of metals such as lead, manganese, chromium and cadmium by ICP-AES in samples of the workplace and ambient air, surface wipes, soil, paint, water and other bulk materials.

We use ion chromatography to analyse for common acid anions and gases including hydrochloric, hydrofluoric, nitric and sulphuric acids as well as gases such nitrogen dioxide and ozone.

How our experts can help:

  • Provide analysis of metals from various types of samples
  • Help clients to meet regulatory compliance in the workplace
  • Use testing methods such as ICP-AES and Ion Chromatography
  • IOM is a UKAS accredited testing laboratory No 0374; for the analysis of a wide range of metals
