Environmental conditions at Vane Tempest Colliery 1981/82

This report tabulates the environmental data, including the respirable dust concentrations, at Vane Tempest Colliery for the period April 1981 to March 1982.Information regarding seams worked, outputs, method of working, dust control and manpower, together with the associated dust concentrations is presented in a series of face charts. The composition of the airborne dust is not available but will be reported later as an addendum to this report.At Vane Tempest Colliery, the coalface mean respirable dust concentration was 2.5 mg/m3 with the total dust concentration being about six times higher.
