Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Linby Colliery, 1975/76

Respirable dust concentrations and compositions at Linby Colliery are tabulated for the period April, 1975 to March, 1976. nformation regarding seams worked, outputs, method of working, dust suppression and manpower, together with the associated dust concentrations is presented in a series of face charts. At Linby Colliery the mean coalface respirable dust concentration was 3.9mg/m3. The mean ash content was 60.2 per cent and the quartz content was 7. 8 per cent (representing a quartz concentration of 0.30mg/m3).Total dust concentrations are also given, and on the average, were six times as high as respirable dust concentrations.
