Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Fryston Colliery, 1974/75

This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions for period April 1974 to March 1975 at Fryston Colliery.As in 1973/74 dust measurements were obtained by volunteer carriers, operating the M. R. E. Gravimetric Sampler Type 113A.The colliery had a mean coalface respirable dust concentration of 2. 4mg/m3, with a mean ash content of 52.2 per cent, and a mean quartz content of 5.7 per cent; (quartz concentration, 0.14 mg/m3).
