A comparison of personal sampling pumps
Continuing the evaluation of sampling pump testing originally carried out for National Smokeless Fuels Ltd. , two more are tested; the Pitman “”Model 704 Air Sampler”” and the Casella “”Simpeds 70 Mk II.”” A rationale for the test procedure is given following consideration of the requirements for an ideal sampling pump. The “”Simpeds 70″” is revealed as a sophisticated, specialised, sampling instrument marred by detail design faults, while the Pitman “”704″” is shown to be superior in some respects to the similar Casella “”Type C. “” “”
