An initial ergonomic assessment of the Lemand roof mounted impact ripper
A brief examination of a Leniand Roof Mounted Impact Ripper was carried out with particular regard to the interface design. The control designs were essentially satisfactory, but might be improved. The working positions could be improved by changesin console design. The problems of expected direction of movement resulting from operation of hydraulic controls werenoted. An analysis of the task involved in the operational use of this machine would be valuable for a more detailed interface examination and for the development of a training scheme.
