Pneumoconiosis Field Research: Environmental conditions at Fryston Colliery, 1969
This report tabulates respirable dust concentrations and compositions for the period January, 1969 to March, 1970 at Fryston Colliery. As in 1968 dust measurements were made using the M.R.E. Gravimetric Sampler, Type 113A.Information regarding seams worked, outputs, methods of working and dust suppression is presented in a series of face charts, together with the associated dust concentrations.Fryston Colliery, a mechanised colliery, had a mean coalface respirable dust concentration of 5.4 mg/m3. The mean ash content was 46.3 per cent and the mean quartz content was 6.6 per cent (0.36 mg/m3 concentration).
